How early is Vidferry, really?
It just launched. v1 does the core job well: paste a link, pick a quality (or grab the audio), and it downloads to your device. It's deliberately small for now; the roadmap above is where it's headed.
Is it private?
Yes. No telemetry, no tracking, no ads. Vidferry runs on your computer and reaches out only for what it needs: the link you paste, a one-time engine download from first launch, license, and update checks.

Do I need to install anything else?
No. On first launch Vidferry downloads its engine into its own folder. It checks for updates and installs them only when you say so.
