Capture

Take a full page screenshot, then make it worth sending

Hoverify is a screenshot extension whose Capture tool takes the full page, the visible viewport, an area you drag out or one element you click. Every shot lands in a built-in editor, so what you send already has the arrow on it and the customer's email blurred out.

How it works

Four ways to capture a page

Take a whole page or just the part you need, and save it as PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF.

Full Page

Scrolls the page and stitches it into one image, so everything below the fold comes with it.

Visible Area

Takes the viewport exactly as it sits, at the resolution your screen renders it.

Select Area

Drag a box over the part you mean and nothing outside it ends up in the file.

Select Element

Hover until the component you want is outlined, then click to take just that.

Screenshot Editor

The part most screenshot extensions leave out

Capturing the page is the easy half. The time goes on cropping it, pointing at the thing you mean and getting it to a size that survives wherever you post it.

Backgrounds. Drop the shot on a solid color, a gradient or an image of your own.

Annotate. Rectangles, circles, arrows, labelled arrows, text and images, snapped into place.

Blur. Hide an email address or an invoice total before the shot leaves your browser.

Effects. Blur, zoom and noise on the background, plus a border and shadow on the shot itself.

Branding. Add your logo and your own text so a shot in a deck looks like it came from you.

Crop. Trim the capture down to the part that matters before anyone else sees it.

Canvas presets for where it's going

Instagram Post, Portrait and Story, Facebook and LinkedIn covers, a YouTube thumbnail, a Dribbble shot: twenty named sizes across eight platforms, already in the editor. No guessing at aspect ratios.

Built for a second pass

Paste an image in from your clipboard, zoom and pan around a tall capture, reorder or duplicate annotations, and nudge them with the arrow keys when they sit a few pixels off.

Export. Save at 1x, 2x or 3x, or copy straight to the clipboard and paste it where it's going.

PDF. Capture a full page straight to PDF when it's going into a report rather than a chat.

Every device. Shoot one device or the whole board in the responsive viewer, then edit it here.

As a website developer, this plugin has so many handy features. One of my favorites is the ability to quickly take full page screenshots very easily, and the inspector tool and color selectors I use very often. There are lots of other different extensions or browser functions that offer these, but I love that everything is all in one place and consistent across different browsers and devices. Highly recommend.

Frequently Asked Questions

Have a question we haven't answered? Get in touch.

Does it capture what's below the fold?

Yes. Full Page scrolls the page and stitches the result into one image. Capture has three other modes as well: Visible Area for the viewport, Select Area for a region you drag out and Select Element for one element you click.

What formats can I save in?

PNG, JPEG, WebP or PDF. From the editor you can also export at 1x, 2x or 3x, or copy the image straight to your clipboard.

How is this different from GoFullPage?

GoFullPage captures the page and stops there. Hoverify captures it and then hands it to a built-in editor, so you can add a background, annotate the thing you're pointing at, blur out a customer's email and export at a size that fits where you're posting it. Hoverify is also a paid extension with seven other tools beside Capture, so the screenshots come with a CSS inspector, a responsive viewer and page audits attached.

Can I hide sensitive information before sharing?

Yes. The editor has a blur tool for exactly that, so account numbers and email addresses don't leave with the screenshot.

Does the screenshot extension work in Firefox?

Every tool runs in the Firefox build; it carries an experimental label because Chromium gets fixes and new features first. Chrome, Edge, Brave and other Chromium browsers are the fully supported ones.

Is the screenshot tool free?

The capture tool comes with Hoverify, a paid extension backed by a 14-day refund window rather than a trial download. One license runs in 3 browsers at a time, and nothing charges you again automatically. See the pricing.

For web developers

Screenshots are how the rest of the team sees the bug

Hoverify puts Capture next to the CSS inspector, the responsive viewer and the page audits. Find the problem, shoot it on the viewport where it happens, mark it up and send it, all without switching extensions.
